Monochrome
A friend and photography mentor of mine, Dave Brosha, refers to black and white as tones of grace – an eloquent and a propos description, in my opinion. For me, monochrome photography is not about removing colors while editing. It is about the intention of depicting the character, life and story of a face, body, building or object without the complexity of spectral hues, and drawing attention instead to contrast, tonal range and lines.
